Beth, you are amazing. I love love love this. FIVE STARS to you. I love numbers and formulas and descriptions, and you’ve covered all of those things.
~Will you be covering the size of the waistband? How long is the strip.
~Also, there are some cool finishes for inside the waistband where it attaches to the skirt. This is fun to see when you pull on the skirt. I have always wondered how this was done. Sometimes it is a different fabric, that's easy but what about adding that piece of ribbon or binding inside. This I never mastered
Yes, I'll cover the length of the waistband in the third post, when we draft the whole skirt.
I'm not planning to go into construction very much, partly because I've written about that a lot on my blog. And partly because there are a lot of resources already existing about construction. That said, I do have a video tutorial for how to sew a bias bound waistband. It's on my blog under the Nita Wrap Skirt Sewalong and on my YouTube channel (Sew DIY Patterns). I’ve never been good at math but the way you have explained this has made it very easy for me to understand. The visuals are such a great reference to have! I look forward to your other posts and hopefully I will be able to make this project for my daughters. Thank you for all the time and work you’ve put into this, the fact it is available at no cost is very generous of you.

Thank you so much! This warms my heart and is so encouraging to hear.
This is a great idea for a newsletter! I appreciate the distinction in this post between functional ease and design ease.
Thank you Steph! 😄
